Bishop Milton Hollins Notlim Music

One of the definitions of the word pre-destined is “ordained in advance by divine will or determined beforehand”.

This is an apt description of Bishop Milton Hollins’ call on his life. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Milton Hollins Jr., is a continued lineage of Singers, Songwriters, Musicians, and Preachers of the Gospel. He started singing at around three years old. By age seven Milton began teaching harmonies to his two sisters and together they sang during their father's revivals and at special events hosted by the Church of God in Christ, Mount Calvery Holy Church of America, Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc and in an influx of multi-ethnic denominational ministries.

Milton started playing drums professionally at age ten and organically moved to keyboards by age sixteen when his mother encouraged him to play.

The fruit does not fall far from the tree—their parents, the late Bishop Milton Hollins Sr., and Helen Hollins are also professional singers, songwriters, and musicians. They were founding members of the Biblical Gospels Singers (Peacock Songbird) and wrote the popular song entitled “I Come to Praise Him” aka “I Don’t Know What You Come to Do”.

On Sunday mornings, at any given church service, you can hear "I Don't Know What You Come To Do...I Come to Clap My Hands, Feet..." during Praise & Worship. This song has been recorded by the Walls Group, BeBe Winans, Shirley Caesar, Smokey Norful, Toni, Tony, Tone for the “House Party II” movie/soundtrack, and hundreds of other artists from multiple genres.

Later, Bishop Milton Sr. and Helen Hollins founded the Helen Hollins Singers (Hob, Savoy, and Messiah Records) in which they handed the torch to Milton which allowed his musical creativity to shine from traditional and contemporary gospel music. He was given the opportunity to produce and write all of the material for the “He Gave It to Me” and “Still Able” albums. Milton featured his two sisters, Francheasca and Alicia on both album projects.

Milton's solo career became official with an independent release "Songs from My Heart" and later "True Worship."

Milton Hollins Jr. was also featured as a songwriter and lead vocalist on the single “He Will Lift You Up” from the “Handle on the Inside” live recording by Bishop Richard “Mr. Clean” White and the Interdenominational Voices of New Orleans Choir at Greater Saint Stephens Full Gospel Baptist Church.

Milton has worked with multi-Emmy Award-winning songwriter Gloria Sclerov. He has showcased his voice on demos for great A-list artists such as Celine Dion, and David Foster through publisher/author John Braheny and producer/songwriter Michael Jay.

Milton has served as Music Director for the Urban Focus Music Conference (USC-Los Angeles, CA), and as one of the Gospel Music Consultants for the documentary movie Higher Ground-Voices of Contemporary Gospel Music (BET-Image Entertainment). Pastor of Music and Vocal Instructor at several churches in Texas and California for over 30 years.

The Lord called him to a deeper succession and level of commitment in 2001 to preach the Gospel, and in 2008 ordained a Bishop and elected Prelate in 2010 over the Jesus Joy Jubilee National Conference, Inc.

Today, Prelate Emeritus, Milton Hollins remains humble while continuing his purposed path. He is blessed by God to serve as Pastor of Music in the Inland Empire, CA, while being presented numerous opportunities to travel both domestically and abroad, preaching, teaching, and spreading the "good news" through song.

JMYTH began playing drums at an early age and produced tracks by the time he was 15 for up-and-coming rap and hip-hop artists.  JMYTH Productions is featured on “U Came My Way”,  "Lead Me" "Whisper A Prayer", and other singles in Milton's music repertoire.
